A Day at the Beach..

Saturday, we decided to go to the beach with the kids. We picked a new location called the Canaveral National Seashores near the Kennedy Space Center. N wanted a beach to herself and she got it!!  It was secluded and peaceful. We flew kites, played in the sand, enjoyed the waves and had a relaxing day at the beach. All went well until it was Maghrib time and we got attacked by the mosquitoes.. R was hit hard.. I mean HARD!! It seemed that he got beaten up by someone.. His eyes are swollen and red puffy spots all over.. (I feel so sorry and sad for him, my poor baby!)

Right after we read salaah and left, we stopped by a CVS and got some anti-itch and soothing gel. Alhamdulillah none of the kids complained back home. I gave R some Benadryl and as I type, he is enjoying his Spoon Therapy(details below) right now :D

He is feeling much better! I will be taking them to Chuck e Cheese in a little bit to reward him for all his patience and bravery..

Also need to stop by the car wash to get all those dead love bugs washed off.

I have pics on my phone and will download and share them by tonight InshaAllah.

Spoon Therapy:
Get four metal spoons; one of the fastest, easiest and cheapest ways to reduce puffiness around your eyes is with a glass of ice water and four metal serving spoons. Chill the spoons in ice water then place one over each eye. When the spoons becomes warm, switch them with the others chilling in the glass of ice water.

Its Friday!!

Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that Hadrat Aadam alayhis salaam was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into jannah, it was on this day that he was removed from jannah (which became the cause for man's existence in this universe, and which is a great blessing), and the day of resurrection will also take place on this day. " (Sahih Muslim)

Its Friday!!

Here is a Hadeeth that I wanted to share with you..

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)
said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be
upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on the day of
Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the
clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of
Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two
Fridays.’” [Al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298]

So, go ahead and read your Surah Al-Kahf if you haven't done so yet, InshaAllah. I know its a little long, how about reading just one Ruqooh for a start? InshaAllah I will share with you another Hadeeth  next Friday.. Until then...

Where Am I ??

I know, I know... its been a while.. SubhanAllah, things have been busy busy with the kids.. I got inquiries if I am doing well and everything is okie.. Alhamdulillah, all is well with your duas! Just been busy...

Z has been pretty fussy lately (and I don't blame her) as she is cutting her posterior teeth these days.. Her top two are already out and about while the lower two are on their way.. I feel for the poor baby... please make duas that Allah SWT gives her the strength and patience to bear the pains inshaAllah.

N and R are busy with school again.. homework packets have started coming in and of course since Ramadan is over..Shaytaan is dancing on top of their heads all the time!! (May Allah SWT protect us all from Shaytaan ur Rajeem, InshaAllah!)

With S, I have started some sorting and counting activities and her favorite is 'the Nerds game' these days. She loves sorting out the Nerds (candies) according to their colors in a muffin pan and then once she is done, she gets to eat them all..

Hopefully over the weekend InshaAllah, I should plan out some activity for the kids and if I do get around to it, I'll keep you all posted..

And to the friends who follow the Cook Book blog, don't worry!!! I am not starving my family, Alhamdulillah.. Just not getting around to making something new or not able to get pictures to post on the blog.. don't loose hope.. just keep up the encouragements and InshaAllah things should come together soon..

Love and Hugs!!!

I bear witness that none is worthy of worship but Allah, the One alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger

:D

By the way, Their abayas/coats were made with hubby's socks..and an outgrown Z's dress-top...
The last picture was an attempt using construction paper.. And these prayer rugs were weaved by the kids as well..just for the barbies.. :D
