Featuring our Dedicated Little Muslimah, M*r**m with Sadaqah Box Activity

M*r**m is five and along with her mom (my dear friend) is usually busy with  some activities that inspires me all the time. Here is a Sadaqah box activity that they did earlier this week and were kind enough to share with Nara-Saz.

The inspiration for their activity came from UmmAbdulBasirsCreativeCorner. 

This activity is called Sadaqah (Charity) Boxes. There are 10 activity cards where the child puts the certain amount of items into their respective Sadaqah box. The child reads the number on the box and counts as many items and places them into the Sadaqah Box. This activity teaches them counting but most importantly teaches them about giving Sadaqah. The best part that M*r**m enjoyed was counting the smiles to give out as Sadaqahs. Don't you think we should do that more often too??

100th Post!!

Alhamdulillah, I have reached a milestone. This is my 100th post on this blog.Thanks to all of you for your continued support and all your comments and feedback to keep this going...Also to all the followers who decided to follow my blog and all the subscribers who have subscribed to my post and comments.. A BIG HUG !!

Have you ever thought about yourself to stay healthy and what you need to do is lose weight? Why not try to fast? There are lots of benifets you can get by doing this:

1.Thinner(if you think your fat)
2.Lighter(if you think your too heavy)
3.Good Deeds(70 times or more in Ramadan)
4.You Feel for Poor People
5.Your Body gets Cleaned Out(by not eating or drinking)
6.Allah Loves the Smell of Your Breath( smells like musk to Him )

You know, some people always fast. Do you know who they are? Guess.

Poor people. At Maghrib time, our tables are filled with food. But they still need to fast until they finally find food! So that is why we need to fast.

Marble Painting

Supposedly *Mess-Free* idea of painting  that we attempted yesterday... It was a blast in the beginning but disappointing towards the end..They all went into the bin :(

We borrowed this idea from HERE and not sure what went wrong..please advise if we should do something differently next time (if there is a next time, that is!)

In a Heavy Duty Ziplock Freezer bag, we added equal amounts of baby oil and water-based washable paints (Thank Goodness!). Everyone chose their colors and we added some glitter...got all the air out and sealed the bags..and then used some clear tape to seal it to prevent any accidents (ehm...)

The colors started to mix together after a while of having fun. And then it turned into a brown mess. And then the bags started leaking.....and I lost my patience.....and all ended up in the bin.....SAD Ending......

S had a little accident..

Last night when we were winding down for bed and S went into the restroom to wash up, she slipped and hurt herself. She has a little bump on her head and her left elbow got dislocated (Nursemaid's Elbow), again! She was in a lot of pain and I tried to snap it back in place according to her pediatrician's instructions and it seemed better and she could move her arm. She went to sleep on our bed but still seemed in some pain which we assumed would be soreness. Around 2-ish she was twisting and turning again so I woke up hubby and asked him to try and snap it back in place as I may have just done it partially. So he attempted again but after much resistance but along with patience on S's part, it finally got snapped in place. Alhamdulillah!  (Jazakallah to Hubby!!!) It was around 2:30 by the time she started feeling better.After giving her abbu a big hug, she requested if she could get an Icee! (Yes, at 2:30am) I tried my luck and made homemade Icee with Rooh Afza...She took a sip but wasn't thrilled.. Then both father daughter went to get her an Icee from the gas station and ofcourse along with some M&M's. That's another story that she only took a sip from the Icee and a few M&M's before she went into Lala land.

She is fine now, Alhamdulillah. Sipping her Icee (No ice in there now) from one hand and holding her M&m's in the other.

..school...

School has started. Kids are happy. They got really nice teachers this year, Alhamdulillah. N is super-delighted every morning whereas R is super-sleepy.. He is not getting enough sleep.. no matter how hard he tries to go to bed early..its not working out.I am not letting them fast either.. Wednesdays are early dismissals so I'll let them keep it tomorrow.
So I guess it would be Wednesdays and weekends from now on.. And maybe one in between for N if she insists.
That's about it...

Door Hangers for Suhoor

Ru and U were kind enough to bring in the foam sheets and they got N, R and S started right away.
